Two separate accidents leave five dead and five injured

An accident this morning at the intersection of Stanger Street and Somtseu Street in Durban Central left five people dead after two vehicles collided into each other.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Santi Steinmann said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found that five people had already died on the scene and three people sustained serious injuries.

Steinmann said the three injured people were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further medical care.

Meanwhile in another accident four people were left injured late last night in KwaZulu Natal on the N2 after two motor vehicles and a light delivery vehicle collided into each other.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Santi Steinmann said when paramedics arrived on scene they found that two people were injured after a vehicle overturned.

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
