The South African Police Service has confirmed that thirty people have been arrested so far in connection with mall robberies in Guateng and the Western Cape.

The latest is where three people were arrested in Yeoville and the same suspects are linked to at least two mall robberies.

Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale said it has been determined that these suspects are part of a bigger gang.

Makgale said the three suspects including a 30-year-old woman was being used as a keeper of the firearms and ammunitions.

“The gangs have stolen items such as cellular phones and laptops in the malls that they have robbed” Makgale added.

The three are expected to appear in court soon.
