Western Cape Police have arrested a 57 year old woman from Mitchell’s plain after police received information about an overwhelming smell of fish from a house at Correy road, Eagle Park.

She was arrested on charges of possession of crayfish.

Police Spokesperson Thembinkosi Kinana said members found a white bakkie standing outside, and could also see that there was something loaded at the back covered with a blanket.

“When members discovered that there was bakkie no one in the bakkie, they decided to go inside the house, where they found the woman who admitted the bakkie belonged to her.

The vehicle was searched and police discovered Crayfish tail at the back of the bakkie.”  Kinana added.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate Court on Monday
