The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa has raised its concern regarding the 2015 wage negotiations.
Minister of Finance Nhlanhla Nene over the
weekend made a remark that a public wage increase of more than 1% of inflation
would be at the cost of jobs.
Denosa Spokesperson Sibongiseni Delihlazo
said the remarks by the minister will in a negative way harden the attitude of
workers who have questioned collective bargaining.
Delihlazo said the remarks by the minister
while the negotiations are still on-going are very unfortunate and it is
unfair. We feel it prompts what
government can possibly put in place.
“Now the minister is negotiating with the
unions via the media which we do not find to be in the interest of finding a
lasting solution to this matter” Delihlazo added.
