Police have arrested four suspects and are being questioned for the shooting of African National Congress Spokesperson and MP Jackson Mthembu.

He was shot on Sunday in Mpumalanga while he was withdrawing money from an ATM.  ANC’s Keith Khoza on Monday said Mthembu is in the Intensive Care Unit and in a critical condition.

Police Spokesperson Selvy Mohlala said they were found in possession of one laptop, thirty cellphones, eight fake bank cards and a card cloning device.

Mohlala said the suspects are being questioned and we are investigating whether they are linked to the shooting of Mr Mthembu.

“Over and above this we are also questioning them on other criminality activities that they could have been possibly be involved in around the country” Mohlala added.
