Police operation leads to 295 suspects arrested for various crimes

Operations carried out by the Kulisriver Police Cluster last week resulted in 295 suspects being arrested for various crimes including murder, illegal possession of firearms, drugs, assault, attempted murder, house breaking and theft.

Police Spokesperson Thembinoksi Kinana said about 272 different types of drugs including mandrax tablets and tik were confiscated to the street value of R10 000.

Kinana said illegal firearms, stun grenades together with an R5 rifle and 94 live rounds of ammunition were also confiscated.

Police Spokesperson Thembinoksi Kinana a total of 295 suspects were arrested for offences relating to murder, attempted murder, and assault common these include drunk driving, reckless and negligent driving, possession of dangerous weapons.

“Of the 295 suspects arrested 41 suspects were released on fines” Kinana added.
