Three suspects aged between 21 and 27-years-old were arrested at Foundry Road in Rondebosch on Wednesday.

Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut said the three suspects robbed a cigarette delivery vehicle of their contents in Rondebosch.

Traut said they were chased by a security vehicle in Borchards Quarry where they overturned their vehicle and tried to flee the scene on foot.

“They were arrested by police members and all the stolen cigarettes and a firearm were recovered.  They are expected to appear in court soon” Traut added.
