Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is today visiting Secunda on an HIV counselling and testing campaign and also chairing the plenary session of the South African National Aids Council.

Since the launch of the campaign in 2010 evidence has shown it has contributed significantly towards saving lives.

Deputy President Spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said the outreach programme of the HIV Counselling and Testing Campaign is part of a partnership between government, Sasol and other business.

Mamoepa said the campaign was launched by President Jacob Zuma in April 2010 under the theme: “I am responsible, we are responsible and South Africa is taking responsibility”.

“This is a call to all citizens to take responsibility in knowing their HIV status” Mamoepa added.
