Drakenstein Municipality concerned about load shedding

The Drakenstein Municipality said it is committed to keep residents informed regarding planned load shedding.

Drakenstein Municipality Communications Officer Mart-Marie Haasbroek said Eskom has informed the municipality that the risk of more load shedding for this week is currently low.

This as the country was filled with blackouts on Sunday after the Majuba power station in Mpumalanga collapsed on Saturday.

Haasbroek said it is not impossible that load shedding can take place this week but for the foreseeable future it seems unlikely.

“We ask all users of electricity to please make an effort to lower the usage especially in peak times from 07:00-10:00 in the morning and from 17:00 to 22:00 in the evening” Haasbroek added.
