ER24 paramedics responded to an accident scene this morning, after two taxis rolled on the N2 in Khayalitsha, leaving 13 people injured.

It is believed that one of the taxis rolled multiple times.

Paramedics Spokesperson Russel Meiring said they arrived on scene and found one taxi lying on the side of the road while another sat in the emergency lane. Numerous occupants from the taxi lay around the scene.

Meiring added that on assessment, paramedics discovered that 13 of the occupants from both taxis had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately no-one had sustained any fatal injuries.”

He also said they treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
