An accident late yesterday close to the Beyers Naude Drive and Peter road intersection left a six-year-old child dead.

This is after the child was trying to cross the road when a motor vehicle collided with him.

ER24 Spokesperson Chitra Bodasing says paramedics arrived on scene and found the child in a critical condition.

Bodasing said paramedics immediately provided advanced life support, however his condition got worse and he was declared dead after attempts to resuscitate him failed.
