39 suspects arrested in Woodstock for various crimes

39 suspects were arrested over the weekend during various crime prevention operations in Woodstock.

The arrests include possession of dagga, theft and possession of dangerous weapons.

Sergeant Hilton Malila that during the operations we arrested fourteen suspects for the possession of dagga and drugs, one for being in possession of suspected stolen property, two for theft, four for being in possession of dangerous weapons and one for fraud.

Malila said the other seventeen suspects were arrested for various less serious offences. We confiscated sixteen packets of dagga, eighteen mandrax tablets and eleven plastics of tic.

The street value of these confiscations is plus minus five thousand rand. All suspects arrested will appear at the Cape Town Magistrate Court today.

These sorts of operations will be executed in a regular basis in the Woodstock Malila added.
