Netcare911 paramedics rushed to an accident scene late last night after a taxi overturned on the N2 South near Queen Nandi drive, leaving one person dead and another seriously injured.

Paramedic’s spokesperson Chris Botha said paramedics treated the injured patient on scene before they transported the victim to a local hospital for further medical care.

Botha added that when they arrived on the scene they found the female in her thirties had been trapped under the wreckage and the man seriously injured. Fireman used the Jaws of Life to extricate the female but tragically she died on the scene due to the very extensive injuries she had sustained.

Exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
