The Congress of South African Trade Union
in the Western Cape on Monday met with
Eskom Directors in the province to discuss several issues including
load-shedding schedule.
General Manager of Eskom in the province
Alvie Lester said the two main issues that were discussed were issues of
members of Cosatu working at Eskom and load-shedding and the impact it is
having on the economy and employment stats in the province.
Lester said we are also committed to working
closely with Cosatu as well as some of the other unions and federations who are
part of Cosatu to find better ways to actually look at the load-shedding
schedules and see how we can accommodate everybody without compromising the
network ‘’Lester added.
Last month Cosatu complained that the
load-shedding schedule in the Western Cape was racist.
