Cape Town police are investigating a case of business robbery after five suspects were arrested after they robbed a cellphone shop.

The suspects aged between 21 and 37-years-old robbed a cellphone store in Adderley Street on Saturday and fled to Khayelitsha after the robbery.

Colonel Thembinkosi Kinana said the five suspects were found at a house in Ilitha Park in Khayelitsha where they are alleged to have been busy counting cellphones and ipads they robbed from the shop.

Kinana said during the arrest police confiscated about 86 new cellphones and ipads in possession of the suspects.

“Police are also investigating the possibility that the arrested suspects might be linked to other similar incidents of robbery in the Western Cape. The suspects are expected to appear in court once they have been charged” Kinana added.
