The Congress of South African
Trade Union in Limpopo said it supports government’s service delivery package
to be used to accelerate service delivery in the Vhembe District Municipality.
However Cosatu has also raised
concerns regarding the package saying government needs to assist all
municipalities in the province.
Minister of Cooperative
Governance Pravin Gordhan the package will amount to half a billion.
Cosatu’s Provincial Secretary Gerald Twala
says while we support this particular package, however as Cosatu we feel
government cannot be reactive and selective in the providing services to our
people.
It is common knowledge that people all over
the province in all districts have got a crisis in terms of service delivery
and we believe that the government must then proactively develop an integrated
plan that will speak to the crisis of all municipalities in the province Twala
added.
