The Higher Education Transformation Network has strongly condemned the ongoing racist attacks on black students and staff by students of the University of Stellenbosch.

It is alleged Lwazi Phakade, Sikhulikile Duma and Sphele Masuku were standing in a queue in a food franchise in Merriman Road early on Saturday morning when three white students allegedly began to insult the restaurant staff.

HETN Hendrick Makaneta said they have liaised and sent a complaint to the judiciary service commission so that this matter of judiciary biased by the judge can be thoroughly investigated.

“We expect a response as soon as possible from the JSC regarding our complaint.” Makaneta added.
