Man killed in Hillcrest collision

A collision between a bus and a vehicle left a man dead and three others with moderate injuries. Two children aged eight and thirteen years, were amongst the injured.

Paramedics from Hillcrest attended the collision on Shongweni Road Bridge.

ER 24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said on arrival they found that the driver of the light motor vehicle sustained fatal injuries.

Vermaak said sadly there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared on the scene.

Vermaak said three people, believed to be the man’s wife and two children, were found with moderate injuries.

Vermaak said they were treated on the scene and later transported to RK Khan Hospital for further treatment.

Vermaak said the driver of the bus was not injured in the collision.

“The exact cause of the incident is not yet known” Vermaak added.
