MEC Plato to conduct second youth outreach in Nyanga

Western Cape MEC of Community Safety Dan Plato will today conduct his second youth safety outreach in Nyanga.

The outreach is to assess and help try and address problems of safety and drug abuse amongst the youth. 

MEC Plato will be assisted by the Neighbourhood Watch, Community Policing Forum and the South African Police Service. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Ewald Botha said following the success of last week’s visit to Nyanga.

Botha said Mr Plato will visit another area within Nyanga to extend the same opportunities and engagements there.

“Last week MEC Plato and the department engaged with more than 300 youths on their safety concerns and took the particulars of more than 200 youths to assist them in applying for further education and training opportunities” Botha added.
