Western Cape MEC of Human Settlement Bonginkosi Madikizela will today handover 100 title deeds to beneficiaries in Delft.

This is part of the department’s strategy to bring about a sense of ownership and responsibility amongst housing beneficiaries.

MEC Madikizela said the title deed becomes an asset for the beneficiary.

Madikizela said this marks a very important day for the 100 beneficiaries as they get the legal document that ensures they have the full rights of a home owner.

Madikizela said 29 of the title deeds will be handed over to pensioners and 71 for non-pensioners.

Madikizela said with the title deed, the house becomes an asset for the beneficiary and the family in generations to come.

Madikizela said the title deeds transfer and handover is part of the Department strategy to inculcate a sense of ownership and responsibility amongst housing beneficiaries.

“Through receiving the title deeds, beneficiaries are formally empowered as home owners” Madikizela added.
