Most innovative entrepreneurs secure funding

Western Cape MEC of Economic Development Alan Winde says the province’s most innovative entrepreneurs have secured funding worth 6 point 5 million-Rand. 

These entrepreneurs are part of the Design Innovation See Fund and MEC Winde says the fund offers valuable support to innovators for high-risk early stage innovation. 

The department wants to improve the success rate of business in the sector by 30 percent which would see job creation. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said: “Minister Winde has wished the entrepreneurs well with their product development; he said this is a great move to showcase the creativity of entrepreneurs here in Western Cape.”

Jooste continued to say: “He says he is confident that South Africa’s next big innovator will come from the Western Cape.”
