The Right 2 Know says it supports the ongoing struggle for transparency on party political funding.

This as My Vote Counts is challenging Parliament to pass a law to require political parties to disclose their funds.

R2K National Spokesperson Murray Hunter says the lack of transparency shown by all parties when it comes to the sources of their funding must be challenged in the strongest way.

Hunter said: “We believe that voters fundamentally have the right to know who is funding politicians. The fact that political parties from across the political spectrum are receiving a large amount of the political funding from secret sources is a huge opportunity for corruption and is really poisonous for our electoral democracy.”
