Tourist's number increases on the Western Cape

On Monday Western Cape Minister of Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde has welcomed a report on the increased number of tourists visiting the province.

It is believed that international and domestic arrivals at Cape Town Airport have increased by 3.2 percent. Winde said tourism was trending upwards with visitor numbers increasing steadily between 2012 and 2015.

Winde added that events were key drivers in the economic boost of the province where thousands of visitors attended festivals and markets.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said they are seeing an interest in International and Domestic tourists, It’s also a greater movement of tourist regions across the province and not only in the Metro. Attractions in the Cape Overberg, the Garden Route and Klein Karoo also impress in growth.
