Two suspects arrested for hijacking a cigarette truck in Mowbray

Two suspects aged 28 and 32-years-old have been arrested for hijacking a cigarette truck in Mowbray. 

Police Spokesperson Thembinkosi Kinana says the following up on information the suspects were arrested in Pinlands and are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate Court on Thursday on a charge of hijacking. 

Kinana said: “It is alleged that the complainant was busy delivering cigarettes at a liquor store when accosted by two men carrying a knife. Two suspects held up the complainant and they forced him into a delivery vehicle and later they offloaded the cigarettes into a Toyota conquest bearing false registration numbers.”

“They then fled the scene. They two suspects were arrested early yesterday in Pinelands.” Kinana continued.
