Western Cape Premier Helen Zille has described the disruptions during the State of the Province Address last week as a way of destroying democracy.

This as the members of the African National Congress in the legislature raised a point of order regarding a ruling that was made last year.

Meanwhile ANC’s Zizi Kodwa in a statement last week raised concerns about the events that happened in the legislature which led to Premier not delivering her speech.

Zille added that its part of the accountability of our Constitution, that at the beginning of every term, she has to present a plan to the people of the Western Cape.

“I have to do that through the state of the province address and I was prevented from fulfilling that constitutional mandate. So it is the way that you destroy democracy by preventing people from fulfilling their constitutional and legal mandate.” Zille said.
