The Congress of South African Trade Union has labelled problems at Eskom which include load-shedding and suspension of four executives as a national crisis.
In a statement Cosatu said it
the power utility cannot guarantee a rapid return to normal power supply, the
economy faces a disaster and as always the workers and the poor will be the
biggest casualties.
Cosatu National Spokesperson
Patrick Craven said far more needs to be done by Eskom, government and indeed
society as a whole to solve these problems.
Craven said we don’t feel that
the latest suspension of four executives is going to help any much at all particularly
since one of them, the Chief Executive has only been there since September.
