while doing visits to health facilities across KwaZulu Natal, community members
complained about frontline staff at health facilities allegedly turning
patients away.

in public healthcare facilities is specifically guaranteed by our constitution.
Nkwanyana added that they are
calling the MEC of Health Dr Sibongiseni Dlomo to re-train the people there on
how to access the person if she/he is ill and the person if he/she comes to the
hospital without referring them to the nearby clinic, they must not chase away
the patients, and instead attend to them patient.
She also said that if they
don’t want to do their work they must leave the work and get people who can do
the work properly, because they are dealing with people’s lives.
