Nehawu supports the call for transformation at UCT

The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union has called for support for transformation by workers and students at the University of Cape Town.

Nehawu in a statement said the university has a very high staff of black employees and the union has raised the issue of the non-implementation of employment equity laws by the university.

Nehawu Western Cape Provincial Secretary Luthando Nogcinisa said UCT has historically been a white dominated institution with very little transformation even after the era of democracy in South Africa.

Nogcinisa said we are calling on workers, students and communities to support the protest so that UCT can also become part of South Africa.
