NPA welcomes Thandi Maqubela sentence

The National Prosecuting Authority has welcomed the sentenced handed down to convicted murderer Thandi Maqubela.

The Western Cape High Court sentenced Maqubela to eighteen years in jail for the murder of acting judge Patrick Maqubela.

Judge John Murphy handed down the following sentences count one murder charge of fifteen years, count two forgery charge of three years and count three fraud charge of three years. Count two and three will run concurrently.

Western Cape NPA Spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said as the states we do accept the sentence although we did ask for a sentence that is more then the prescribed minimum sentence on the murder.

Ntabazalila said we do accept and at last she will go to prison.
