The National Union of Mineworkers says the suspension of four Eskom executives means that there is a collapse of governance.

The executives including Eskom CEO Tshediso Matona have been suspended as part of an independent inquiry into the current status of Eskom.

NUM General Secretary Frans Baleni said they have not been given any reasons why these drastic measures has been taken.

Baleni said they were expecting work done by the Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, to give us their report on the developments of Eskom.

“It does suggest, that there is something, which we have not been told and our biggest concern is that, the Chairperson has been in the centre of problems in the previous boards and is carried over to the new board.” Baleni added.
