NUM strongly condemns rape of a married women at the Thembelani Mine

The National Union of Mineworkers has condemned in the strongest possible terms the rape of a woman at the Thembelani Mine in Rustenburg.

NUM Rustenburg Regional Secretary Sydwell Dokolwana said this incident is sad especially after the union has been campaign with management to employ more females to the mine.

The woman was allegedly raped in the female change room at the mine.

Dokolwana said we are very much worried more so the lady who has been raped underground is married lady now you can put yourself in her shoes, what about the husband, the kids and the diseases that are out there too.

“As members of The National Union of Mineworkers we really condemn this incident in the strongest terms possible” Dokolwana added.
