A total of 104 families will be celebrating Freedom Day in their brand new social housing units in Scottsdene.

This forms part of a joint project that will ultimately see the provision of 500 social housing units by December 2015.

Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Benedicta van Minnen said we very excited in the City of Cape Town to be able to announce, we have given keys to 104 families for Freedom Day to their own accommodation in the social housing units in Scottsdene.

Van Minnen said this is very much a victory for dignity and it allows us to celebrate Freedom Day by seeing families enjoy the freedom to have a family life in a place where their family’s in a good safe environment that will allow them to reach their potential.
