A tragic accident this morning near Carletonville left five women dead and at least fifty others injured.

This is after a bus and a light motor vehicle collided head-on.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics along with other services arrived on the scene and found the bus and a light motor vehicle lying on the side of the road.

Meiring said the light motor vehicle had been completely ripped off by the collision. On inspection paramedics discovered the lifeless bodies of 5 woman lying inside the light motor vehicle.

“Unfortunately all 5 patients had sustained fatal injuries. At least 50 other patients were found on the scene with minor injuries. Most of the patients were children on their way to school.
