The Economic Freedom Fighters has rejected the appointment of Dr Ben Ngubane as newly appointed Chairperson of the Board of Eskom citing a recycling of the same problem that characterised Zola Tsotsi.

Ngubane was appointed earlier this week following the resignation of Tsotsi which he stated that he was stepping down in the interest of the company and the country.

EFF National Spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says Ngubane has a very bad record that he brings from the SABC.

He said that as the chairperson of the SABC he left just after the public protector was investigating systemic government problems.

Ndlozi said that “so we know that he has been appointed because of his proximity to the president Jacob Zuma.

This is a long trend of appointment for home boys and home girls that are linked to the president not because of their capacity but because of their proximity to the president and we reject his appointment”, Ndlozi added.
