Minister of Science and Technology launches of 5th gender summit today

The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor will open the 5th Gender Summit Africa to be held at the Cape Town ICC today.

The Summit will also provide a platform for leading female scientists, researchers and decision makers from Africa and Europe to address issues such as removing gender-bias from science and advancing equality in science structures and practices.

Ministerial spokesperson Lunga Ngqengelala says “ the gender summit is part of the series of international gender summits has in various countries across the globe and it will be for the first time it has been held in Africa.

It is aimed at stimulating meaningful conversation of how science, technology, infrastructure, capital could be used to realise the continents  full potential for the benefit of the entire people, Ngqengelala added.
