80 school children have been treated at a school in the Bloemfontein area this morning in a suspected food poisoning incident.

One child was found to be seriously ill while the others were in a stable condition.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said it is believed that these children yesterday afternoon, they attended some funeral and they were all eating food there and this morning presented with symptoms of diarrhoea, vomiting and nausea.

Botha added that the paramedics treated the 80 children there at the scene and then transported them through to a local hospital for further treatment.
