Foreign national arrested for human trafficking in Limpopo

A 27-year-old foreign national is currently appearing in the Mankweng Magistrates Court after he was arrested on Monday for human trafficking.

Police received a tip-off regarding illegal activity taking place in a spaza shop store room.

Upon arrival police found nineteen foreign nationals locked inside the room in Mentz village in Limpopo.

Lieutenant Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said police in Mankweng outside Polokwane, arrested a 27 year old foreign national following a discovery of about 19 foreign nationals who were locked in a store room at a village outside Mankweng.

Ledwaba said this incident happened yesterday. The 27 year old will face charges of human trafficking while the 19 will face charges for being illegal foreigners.
