Popcru calls for more community assistance in fighting crime

The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union has welcomed the assistance from community members in combating crime in Johannesburg over the weekend.

Following tip-offs from community member’s 22 suspects were arrested and 20 illegal firearms were recovered around Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Popcru Richard Mamabolo said we appreciate the role that community members are playing in combating crime but more needs to be done together with police.

Mamabolo said the need to combat criminal acts is the responsibility of all of us.
