President Zuma gives ANC stalwart Ruth Mompati a special official funeral

The late African National Congress Stalwart Ruth Mompati has been given a Special Official Funeral.

She died at the age of 89-years-old on Tuesday after a long illness. Mompati has been described as a hard worker and selfless human being.

Presidential Spokesperson Harold Maloka said this category of a funeral is designated by the President of the Republic of South Africa for distinguished persons.

Maloka said all national flags at all flag stations in the country will be flown at half-mast until the day of the funeral, which a date will be announced at a later stage.
