Two killed in a collision on the R82

Two people were killed this morning on the R82 in De Deur near Vereenigning.

 
Paramedics arrived on scene to find a Corsa bakkie sheered in half.

 
ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said it is believed the bakkie had fiver occupants in it at the time of the collision. All of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

 
Vermaak said a man and a woman sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead by paramedics on the scene as there was nothing more they could do for them.

 
Vermaak added that three other people were also treated on scene, one of them was in a critical condition.

 
Two other people were also treated for their moderate injuries and all three patients were transported by ER24 and Provincial Emergency Services to Sebokeng Hospital for further treatment.

 
The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
