WC MEC Winde to drive health innovation in the country

Western Cape MEC of Economic Opportunities Alan Winde said the province is poised to drive health innovation in the country.

On Thursday MEC Winde and health MEC Nomafrench Mbombo announced an investment of more than half-a-billion-Rands in the development of the Cape Health Technology Park.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said the facility will generate four-billion-Rands for the economy.

Jooste says together with national, the Western Cape government is investing up to R600-million-Rand on the development of the Cape Health Technology Park.

Jooste said "we believe that this collaboration will lead to the development of new firms and intellectual properties to establish our regions at a globally competitive centre of health innovation."
