NEHAWU condemns the arrest of Cde Alexandre Liberi by Israel

The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union adds its voice in condemning the arrest, maltreatment and deportation of Cde Alexandre Liberi, by the Israel regime security forces.
 
Alexandre was arrested, interrogated and deported by the Israel security forces at the Tel Aviv airport on her way to participate in a seminar on Information Technology and internet training of young unionists.

Nehawu spokesperson Sizwe Pamla said, the actions of the Zionist regime are an insult to all the workersk, who believe in the principles of freedom, justice and international solidarity.

Pamla said, as NEHAWU we strongly condemn the harassment, the arrest and illegal deportation of Cde Alexandre Liberi from the World Federation of Trade Union.

“We feel that as much as this is deplorable, it reminds us of the struggle that the Palestine people are faced with every day and it calls on all of us to stand up and support the Palestinian struggle and make sure that we offer the same kind of solidarity that we received as South Africans under apartheid” Pamla added
