Three people were killed and three others injured yesterday, after two motor vehicles collided on the R501 outside Carletonville.

ER24 Paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find both wrecked vehicles lying overturned on the side of the road.

ER24 Spokesperson, Russel Meiring said on assessment, paramedics found the bodies of two men and a woman lying roughly 15 meters away from their vehicle. Unfortunately all three patients sustained multiple fatal injuries when they were ejected from the vehicle.

Meiring said on assessment of the occupants of the second vehicle, paramedics found that all three occupants had sustained moderate injuries.

“Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Carletonville Hospital for further medical treatment.” Meiring added

The exact cause to the incident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
