An accident on the M3 in Tokai in the Western Cape
left ten people injured.
This is after the bakkie they were travelling in
rolled multiple times.
ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24
paramedics as well as other services arrived on the scene and found the bakkie
on the side of the road, its cargo spread across the road.
On assessment, paramedics discovered that 10 people
had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Most of the patients had been travelling on the
back of the bakkie, and were ejected, when it rolled multiple times.
Meiring said paramedics began treating the patients
for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Mediclinic Contsantiaberg
for further treatment.
“It is understood that the occupants on the back of
the bakkie had been ejected when the driver lost control of the vehicle,
causing it to roll.”
The exact details to the cause of the accident will
remain the subject of a police investigation.
