132 suspects arrested in the Western Cape

 City of Cape Town’s Metro Police conducted several operations over the past weekend which resulted in 132 suspects being arrested.

 26 drunken drivers were arrested three for reckless and negligent driving.

55 fines including unlicensed drivers were issued.

Metro Police Deputy Chief Yolande Faro said Metro police arrested an additional 61 motorist for drunk driving in the following areas, Muzenburg, Gugulethu, Parow, Makhaza and Khayelitsha.

In Mananberg and Kraaifontein we also arrested 5 suspects for possession of narcotics and confiscated various quantities of drugs.

This includes 3 bags of hydro dagga with ab estimated street value of R5 000 rand after we received a tip off from the public about the drug delivery at the address, 33-year-old suspect was arrested during the operation.

Meanwhile roadblocks for public transport was held in Kulis River, Manenberg and Langa with 33 drunken drivers were arrested with one person arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Metro Police Deputy Chief Yolande Faro said, 2 motorist were arrested for outstanding warrants and 1 motor drink driving.

They also impound 33 taxis and issued 461 fines for various offences.
