A 41-year-old woman went missing while she was surf-skiing with her husband and her brother-in-law in Fish Hoek yesterday.

The woman identified as Riaan Liesegang got caught in the 1 meter swell.

National Sea Rescue Institute Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said despite the search, at first no sign of the paddler was found. She was then found in a caravan at Millers Point Caravan Park.

Lambinon said that she had lost her surf-ski at sea, swam ashore and then had managed to get to the caravan where her family took her in and started re-warming her while raising the alarm.

The woman was treated for hyperthermia at the caravan by paramedics and released requiring no further assistance, Lambinon added.
