City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security JP Smith said the city also offered a reward to ensure that anybody who knows of someone who has vandalised or stolen from the building, they bring us that information and the information leads to an arrest, we are willing to pay R1000 reward.

Smith added that there is a further reward subsequently after the conviction, so that we can ensure that people who have illegal benefited from vandalising and stripping this public facility are arrested.
