The Congress of People has confirmed it has laid criminal charges against former Passenger Rail Agency CEO Lucky Montana and suspended head of engineering Daniel Mthimkhulu at Brooklyn Police Station in Pretoria.

Montana was released by the Prasa board last week and Mthimkhulu has been suspended due to him lying about his qualifications.

COPE Spokesperson Dennis Bloem said we are saying that this thing is getting out of hand and we are very much serious in stamping it out.

The Congress of the People will say that this golden handshake must come to an end, if we are not going to stop it, the country will go onto a banana republic, Bloem added.
