The Democratic Alliance has
raised its concern over Mpumalanga municipalities that have managed to rake up
a whopping R1.415 billion in wasteful expenditure.
This follows the latest
Municipal Finance Management Act Audit outcomes.
A challenge in the province
remains the compliance with key legislation.
DA’s Bosman Grobler said if I
identify quite a few critical errors where these wasteful expenditure has
happened one of the biggest concerned is the fact that tenders given to
councillors and municipal officials.
