Deputy President Cyril
Ramaphosa said his trip to Lesotho was a good one.
President Jacob Zuma as the
organ in SADC of Peace and Security sent deputy Ramaphosa to Lesotho amongst tension
over the murder of former army general, Maaparankoe Mahao.
Deputy President Ramaphosa
said throughout Lesotho everybody is worried and concerned by the death of
Lieutenant General Mahao.
Ramaphosa said we also took
the opportunity to meet other stakeholders. We met parties in the opposition,
we met the churches, we met the NGOs and we also saw the King. And no doubt everyone
is very concerned about the passing of Lieutenant General Mahao.
Meanwhile South Africa will be
sending a team of pathologists to do examination over the circumstances
surrounding the death of Lieutenant General Mahao.
A special summit on Lesotho
will be held in Pretoria tomorrow.
Deputy Ramaphosa said the
summit of the Double Troika will consist of discussions in the presence and
with the participation of Prime Minister Mosisili.
“I am sure that out of that
discussion will come suggestions, proposals and solutions of how to take
matters forward here in Lesotho” Ramaphosa added.
